First Feather ƸӜƷ Action / Voice

[Early this nice morning, Kohaku had woken up very confused, with a whole jumble of new-ish memories. She didn't even start to walk around until she figured out how to make new holes in the back of her clothes again. But once she did, she found herself looking around the forest looking like a kid on Christmas morning. Oddly excited, oh so very curious, but very, very lost and confused. And instead of trying to remember anything so suddenly, she looks up to the tree she had been placed under.]

Might you know why I'm here? [The journal may not pick up any other sound than the wind, but Kohaku got one loud and clear.] Oh...that sounds familiar...Thank you.

[Once she got her answer, nothing else is heard over the journals. Instead she has started to roam, and memories of the forest had mostly came back to her as she almost instinctively finds her way to the village. Though by that time, she has already gathered a few friends.

As she walk around, it's almost impossible to not notice the pretty red birds. Each on one shoulder. And a bunny she's holding, carrying it ontop of her journal. Talking to them, and asking questions quite often. But she does have that confused look of a new feather, but at least not the clothes. Just don't mind her staring at you as you walk by, since she is trying her best to remember people now.

Eventually though, later in the day she can be found situated very neatly by the fountain, under a tree. Yes, sitting in the snow, still watching people, but she's finally remembers the most important thing. The book she's been carrying around all day!]

Uhm....hello? If I'm remembering this right, people can hear me!

I've been gone a very long time, but everything looks familiar so it might be longer for me than it was here. I would really like to know if some of my friends are still here, if that's not too much trouble.

Oh no, wait! I'm sorry, I'm supposed to introduce myself first... [She figures it's a bit too late, she she lets out an almost depressed sigh.] My name's Kohaku...I guess it's obvious I was here before now...

Maybe they are trying to compensate, bring you when it's the worst time possible and then when everything is fine. Assuming there's a reason as to why we're brought here anyway other than to bother us.

It could be worse yes. Besides that, a few people came and left but that's normal in this place. Smoker got his girlfriend back as well, though I don't know how that is going given how he is.

[Ikki's still baffled that he's the one technically better than Smoker regarding relationships.]

...Then are you sure it's alright for me to stay with you?

[Since she lives with Shuichiro, it would make sense that the girlfriends would be living with them, right?]

She's not staying with us, rather has her apartment near ours. And even if she lived with us, they could just share a room and leave the other free for you.

[Kohaku, do you think Ikki is the type to offer shelter to people if that's going to be an annoyance or if there's not space for it? He's not so charitable.]

[Well she's not the best judge for something like that! She just thinks you're letting her stay with you because you know her...]

[He eyes you, Kohaku, but says nothing else. Out of the pair that he forms with Smoker, Ikki's actually the one with less social skills and capacity to maintain a conversation. So he will remain silent for most of the rest of the way until the groceries shop unless she talks first.

Once in the store his skills won't level up though.]

I didn't ask, you still can only eat milk and honey? Nothing new in your menu?

[She doesn't really know what to talk about, and she's mostly looking around at everything that moves. Trying to remember anything else.]

No, just milk and honey. I can't bring myself to eat anything else.

Fair enough. It certainly doesn't do you any bad after all.

[Since they are there he will get some other things that they are running low on.]

You sure you don't need anything else from the stores?

That's true.

[She will do her part and get some milk and honey then.]

...I can't think of anything.

[He shrugs.]

Be sure to tell us if you think of something and want help with it, the stores won't go anywhere.

[And after grabbing another box of dog biscuits that Hyoga was pretty settled in taking with them whether Ikki approved or not... He will consider the trip for groceries finished and head outside to go back to the apartment.]

A little. All of the smaller plants aren't around, so it's harder to tell where everything is.

[A time warning would require Ikki to remember actively that he's not alone with Hyoga. And that people don't read minds. He fails at remember those things, or about caring about them. At least he stops and waits for her to catch up once he realizes she's behind.]

It's January still, so it's no wonder the plants don't want to show up yet. You missed Christmas, a pity, now I wonder how you would have dealt with your assigned elf.

[Well at the very least she catches up fast. She's gotten very good at running!]

Assigned elf? That sounds cute!

Change cute for annoying and you will nail it. Those little pests followed us everywhere and demanded something everyday to "determine if we were nice or naughty".

That doesn't sound all that bad. [Says the very patient angel.]

Though what kind of things did they ask you to do.

It's bad when you have to deal with one staring at you at every minute of the day, following you everywhere and making stupid requests. Like baking a cake and giving it to a stranger, or have a "nice" conversation with a stranger, or... Play in the snow and things like that.

[The horror. He's clearly and honestly annoyed by those ideas thought.]

If he had been around for one more day with another "make a new friend" idea I would have strangled it myself.

[She can't help but smile at the thought of him doing all those things with a big scowl on his face. But she doesn't laugh.]

You shouldn't things like that get you mad. Doing those things aren't to horrible.

[If he had done them, even with a big frown, then maybe he would have gotten something. But he ended telling the elf to fuck off after the third day and ignoring any other request. Asking him to go caroling was just too much.]

No, they aren't horrible, they are annoying. Even more than crossing hell again and again to go back to save four idiots who let themselves be controlled by their emotions.

[And yet, despite how annoying it was, he still crossed said hell again and again.]

[Kohaku probably would've liked to do most of those things, but that comment about hell makes her curious.]

The underworld where souls go when they die-, wait why are you asking? Don't tell me there's no hell in your world.

[Because she can't be asking about how he would or could cross hell in the first place, nope.]

Of course there is. But humans and angels aren't allowed to go there.

Reborn? Heh, isn't that nice. In my world humans just died and were sent to the underworld to be judged, if they were considered bad they were tortured eternally as punishment, if they were good they went to the Elysium, basically a heaven. I doubt any human has ever been found "good" by the rules used there.

[Probably even Esmeralda ended there, because she stepped on an ant or something like that. The judges didn't let anything go without punishment after all.]

So every time I died, I had to cross the whole hell to get back to the living world. As the Phoenix I can resurrect from my ashes, but there's no speed ticked through the process most of the time.

And it's like that for everyone? That's horrible

For me, rather than horrible it was immensely annoying.

[Because he had to walk all the way back to the entrance of hell and even without Hades' troops up for a fight that's not a field trip.]

But yes, it was horrible for people, though now I have no idea what happens when one dies since both hell and Elysium were destroyed when we defeated Hades. I want to think that it can't be anything worse than that.
